Jest Improv is proud to present it's very own Sketch 101 Comedy program! This program is open to all skill levels, so whether you already have a portfolio or you've never written a sketch before, this program is for you!

Course Details
This course will be an introduction to the Jest Improv philosophy on sketch comedy, specifically using "the game" to write short comedic scenes. You will get the opportunity to learn how to write different styles of sketches, how to re-write and get notes back from your instructor to craft a well polished sketch.
You will learn how to write with others and you will also learn to write solo sketches. You will read sketches and pitch them to the instructor and the class and we will all work together to make each of the sketches as polished as possible.
There will only be 12 spots available!
This course will take place at the Bunker Theater in Ventura (2750 East Main Street Unit B2). This will be an 8-week course running on Wednesday nights from 6:30-9 pm from July 1st to August 19th. The showcase will be on August 22nd @ 7 pm.
Meet Your Insructor
Alex Sattler
Graduate of the Second City and UCB
Alex has been involved in Improv Comedy since 2013 and has been involved in sketch and standup comedy as well. Alex has acted in and directed various theatrical plays and musicals. He has graduated the Conservatory program at the Second City, studied at the Groundlings and graduated from the UCB comedy program along with participating in various improv programs in the Ventura County area. Alex has been directing and teaching improv students since 2018 and has been directing the Jest Improv Comedy Program since January of 2022.
