Improv 201
Longform Improvisation
Instructor: Alex Sattler

After the 100-series, students are ready to expand their improv skills beyond short-form games, and start exploring the fundamentals of long-form improvisation. In the 200 series students will gain more in-depth experience on characters, active listening, playing truthfully and group mind!

This program is currently held Monday nights, 6:45 to 9:15-PM. The program will culminate with a showcase, September 9th, 2023.

Improv 104
Advanced Scenework: Taught by Ashley Blom
This program will take everything we've learned about the basic framework of scenework in improv and work on on all the elements necessary to set ourselves up for a successful scene! We will be working on various elements such as active listening, structure of a scene, and heightening the objective/POV along with continuing to create great characters for your fellow improvisers to play off of.​
Ashley has been playing and performing with JEST for a few years, applying her many years of prior improv experience and stand-up comedy performance style. Ashlely is dedicated to using what she has learned to make the students the best improvisers they can be! ​This program will This seven week program runs from August to September with a showcase on Sept 8, 2023.

Learn about the fundamentals of improv and have fun getting out of your shell with our 100 series! Gain more confidence in your public speaking and cooperation skills while learning games, like those featured on, "Whose Line It It Anyway?"

Long-Form Fundamentals
Expand your skills beyond shortform games, and start exploring the fundamentals of long-form improvisation. In the 200 series you'll gain more in-depth experience on characters, active listening, playing truthfully and group mind!

Advanced Long-Form
Expand your long-form talents with the 300 series, and learn the most popular long-form formats used in the improv comedy world!

Musical Improv
Have you ever wanted to learn how to improvise songs like they do on Whose Line is it Anyway? Now you can learn the skills needed to create your own musical fun in our 400 series! We will provide live musical accompaniment and give you all the talents you need to be a musical force on stage. Next stop, Broadway!


501 - 505
Sketch Comedy
In the 500 series, you'll take all the improv skills you've honed through the JEST program and learn how to write, shoot, and edit sketches just like they do on Saturday Night Live!
